Getting into the mood for Summer? Volkswagen certainly are, with order books open for the T-Roc Cabriolet. Two trim levels are available; the fashion orientated Design, with prices starting at £26,750 RRP OTR and R-Line which starts at £31,920 RRP OTR.
Volkswagen has offered Cabriolets for over 71 years with many models over that time, the T-Roc Cabriolet being the latest model in this lineage. Two petrol engines will be available, a 1.0-litre TSI 115 PS and a 1.5-litre TSI 150 PS, both are available with a 6-speed manual and the 1.5-litre also has the 7-speed DSG transmission available.
The traditional fabric folding roof takes only nine seconds to fold down and 11 seconds to raise. Unlike the hardtop T-Roc, the cabriolet only has two doors, the wheelbase has also been extended by 40mm to give more room for the passengers and 284-litres of boot space.
Design trim has 17” “Mayfield” alloy wheels as standard, 18” “Montego Bay” and “Sebring” alloys are optional. An 8” Discover Navigation infotainment system, with wireless App-Connect smartphone connectivity, 2Zone climate control and a six-speaker audio system come as standard. Driver assistance systems such as Front Assist with pedestrian monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Assist and a driver alertness monitor with fatigue detection, all come as standard with the Design trim.
The T-Roc Cabriolet R-Line features the same 19” “Suzuka” alloy wheels as the T-Roc R-Line, optionally the 19” “San Marino” wheels are available, exclusively on the Cabriolet. Volkswagen’s Active Info Display comes as standard, R-Line trim is used throughout the cabin including sports seats with the R logo embroidered and sports steering wheel. On the exterior, an R-Line body kit sets it apart, with fog lights, LED headlights and sports suspension, 20mm lower than the standard T-Roc.
