The Caravan and Motorhome Club’s Towcar of the Year Awards

Volvo wins the overall Towcar of the year from the Caravan and Motorhome Club with the XC40 D4 AWD R-Design Pro, which also won the Caravan Weight 1400kg-1500kg category. The judges liked the XC40’s towing ability and sportiness.

The Jaguar I-Pace 400PS Electric HSE won the Caravan Weight under 1150kg Best Alternatively Fuelled Vehicle class, it can only tow max 750kg but the judges were impressed by its ability to cover 115 miles with the caravan attached and how easy the electrics and mirrors can be attached.

The winner of the Caravan Weight 1150kg-1300kg class was the Skoda Octavia Estate Sportline 2.0TDI 150 PS DSG, judges enjoyed the large boot and well located detachable electrics.

The Ford Focus Vignale Estate 2.0 EcoBlue 8-Speed Auto takes the win in the Caravan Weight 1300kg-1400kg Best Family Towcar, judges were impressed by the 541litres of storage while the seats were still in place.

Volvo takes another win in the Caravan Weight 1500kg-1700kg class with the V60 D4 AWD Cross Country Plus, the judges were impressed by the amount of luggage space and the electrically-retractable towbar.

Volkswagen takes the Caravan Weight over 1700kg class with the Touareg R-Line 3.0 V6 TDI 4Motion 286PS auto Tiptronic, the judges liked the level attitude when hitched, and the nose weight limit of 140kg.

Volkswagen also took the Best Pickup class with the Amarok Trendline 3.0 V6 TDI 4Motion 204PS auto, the judges were impressed with the large load area and the full-size spare wheel.

The Large Family Towcar class was won by the Skoda Kodiaq vRS 2.0 TDI 239PS 4×4 DSG, judges liked the comfort and stability whilst having power in reserve.
