Hyundai Vision T Concept News
Hyundai has given some glimpses of their new Plug-in Hybrid SUV Concept, the Vision T for AutoMobility LA. This being the seventh concept in a range of Hyundai Design Center concepts giving an insight into Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness global design language.
SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Center said; “We pursue innovative solutions in design and add emotional value to our product experience through sensuous sportiness design language,” A plug-in hybrid powertrain is used to power the Vision T, giving a view into Hyundai’s vision of the future as well as their eco-lifestyle orientation giving a balance to the environment.
There are two sub-themes within the Vision T’s fundamental design, these are Parametric Fantasy and Transcendent Connectivity. Throughout all parametric surfaces are connected from the body to the lights to the trim, everything flows together. There are no distinct boundaries within the design giving it seamless connectivity. Featuring concave and convex lines, light reflects off these lines to give a real sense of occasion with unique design. More character is added by the use of a Hidden Signature Lamp inspired by the Le Fil Rouge Concept and Grandeur Face Lift. When travelling at high speed, the Parametric Air Shutter is deployed, which adjusts the aerodynamics and design of the Vision T.
Whilst the Vision T is stationary the grille is closed, however when the car starts rolling the individual parts of the grille move in a preprogrammed sequence. The movement of the grille isn’t just a nice visual characteristic, it also helps with airflow for the powertrain helping with aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.
