Mazda MX-30 News
Mazda have unveiled the MX-30 at the Tokyo Motor Show, this is the companies first electric production car. Mazda have designed the MX-30 with driving pleasure at its heart standing out from the rest of the electric car market, the battery range is around 125miles.
Mazda have kept their signature driving characteristics while incorporating the latest technology, giving a natural and responsive drive. This is done by using an innovative engineering approach with the e-Skyactiv package. The battery has been incorporated into the body which helps with the overall rigidity of the MX-30, making it more responsive to the driver’s inputs.
Mazda knows the importance of sound to the driver so have used an electronic sound system which is synchronised to the motor torque, meaning the driver will be able to gauge their speed easier. Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control (GVC) has been widened to take advantage of the electric motor (electric G-Vectoring Control Plus).
Mazda continues it’s “less is more” design with the MX-30, on the interior, there is a flowing design from the A-pillar to the rear end. Like the RX-8 the MX30 has freestyle doors allowing easy access to the front and rear seats. Eco-friendly materials are used on the interior with leather being replaced with a vegan-friendly alternative.
The MX branding is iconic in the industry has been used to challenge assumptions in the industry, with the MX-5 being created when other brands had written off the roadster as a concept. The MX30 brings a new EV experience with a unique design both inside and out complimented by a great driving car, keeping the driving experience expected from a Mazda.
The MX-30 is available to pre-order now and will arrive on the European market in the second half of 2020 and in the UK in 2021.
