The sixth-generation Corsa is the first to feature a fully electric version; the Corsa-e, it is also Vauxhall’s first foray into fully-electric vehicles. There will be a fully-electric version of every model in Vauxhall’s fleet by 2024.
While providing an uncompromised ride and comfort the Corsa-e has a sporty design and performance, it also has a range of safety features that come as standard, including; Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Two trim levels are available; SE Nav and Elite Nav. The Corsa-e, as standard, comes with automatic climate control, electric parking brake and Keyless Entry and Go. Other features include; a 7” colour touchscreen, digital cockpit and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The Corsa-e has a range of up to 209 miles, so is ideal for the daily commute. It has a 50kWh battery which can be charged with a 100kW rapid charger, which takes just 30 minutes to charge up to 80%, it is covered by an eight-year/100,000 mile warranty.
The electric motor has 136hp and 260Nm of torque, giving a 0-62mph time of 8.1 seconds, and on to an electronically limited top speed of 93mph. The Corsa-e features a regenerative braking system, which recovers energy released when braking and decelerating, kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy being used straight away or being stored in the battery to increase range. It uses a heat pump to regulate the temperature inside the cabin, which helps with efficiency too.
The Corsa-e is available to order now, it starts at £27,665 on-the-road after Plugged-in car grant.
